Desmond is currently the Junior Partner at Ferd Orbih SAN & Co. He has a result orientated approach and attention to details, which makes him a positive and tangible contribution and an indispensable asset to any organization. He also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the logistics and legal sectors.
- Desmond Previously worked as a sales rep at the University of Hull and encouraged alumni to donate to the Universities Sports Development Fund.
- He also worked as a legislative aide at the National Assembly Nigeria, Committee on Aviation.
- He was been deeply involved in Election Petitions, by working with FERD ORBIH (SAN) & CO LEGAL PRACTITIONERS, where he was resident legal counsel in the Benin Office between 2015-2017.
- He then worked underwent corporate commercial tutelage, while working at OBLA & CO, where he was an associate in their Abuja office between 2017-2020.
- From 2020 - till date, he has worked as the Junior Partner managing the Abuja Office of FERD ORBIH (SAN) & CO LEGAL PRACTITIONERS.
In essence, he has developed while working with a team of lawyers on the firm’s legal commitments, whilst specializing in Election Petitions, Arbitration proceedings, and Corporate/Commercial agreements and ensured that the clients’ needs are met.
Desmond is a Corporate Commercial law specialist, who sits on the board of various corporate and commercial entities at secretarial and advisory levels. He works with Microfinance Banks, Agricultural Conglomerates, Mega retail Outlets, Real Estate companies, Recycling Companies, etc.
Desmond currently serves in various capacities, such as:
- Member: The University of Buckingham Centre for Extractive Energy Studies (UBCEES)
- Member: The UK institute of Chartered Arbitrators
- Associate: Nigerian institute of Chartered Arbitrators
Desmond holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in International Relations from Covenant University, Nigeria; a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), in Senior Status Law from the University of Hull, United Kingdom; a Master of Laws (LLM), International Law and Commercial Law, specializing in: International Oil and Gas Law, form the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom; and a Bachelor of Law (B.L) from the Nigerian Law School. He is an Associate of the Nigerian institute of Chartered Arbitrators (ACArb). He is also a Member of the UK institute of Chartered Arbitrators (MCIArb UK)
He also took extensive courses in NIIT on web design and has been involved in Legal enlightenment programs/workshops and obtained certificates there, such as:
